Area Information

South Bend, Indiana, is a safe and quiet city, and its inhabitants possess traditional Midwestern values. Located in the “Michiana” area, which encompasses parts of the surrounding southern Michigan region, South Bend is a 45-minute drive from Lake Michigan; 90 miles southeast of Chicago; and a couple hours from Detroit, Indianapolis, and Milwaukee, by car. The area’s cost of living is one of the lowest in the United States, and the city is easily accessible by air, rail, and bus.
