About the Center

TLC-Boston is a small, friendly branch of the The Language Company family located in the heart of Boston. During most of the year, we focus on helping students get ready for university study in the US, including not only English but also academic survival skills.  In the summer, we shift our focus a little more toward active exploration of Boston. Above all, we want to make you feel welcome here as you explore this fabulous city!

We offer:

• An intensive program (9:30-3:30 daily) for I-20 students
• A semi-intensive program for visitors and residents who want to brush up on their English (flexible hours)
• An executive program for one-on-one and small group classes tailored for your language goals (flexible hours)

Minimum age:

School year 17; Summer 15

Weather:

If you don’t like the weather in New England, wait 5 minutes and it will change.  Weather in Boston can be unpredictable, but there are 4 distinct seasons:

Summer:

hot and humid with cooler evenings (75-90 degrees)

Fall:

A beautiful season with the turning of the leaves (40-60 degrees)

Winter:

Cold and often a lot of snow (10-40 degrees)

Spring:

Rainy and cool 50-70 degrees

You must bring something warm to wear in Boston, even in summer.  Also, we walk a lot in this city, so make sure you have waterproof jackets and shoes.
