The Importance of English in the World

Nowadays, English is the most spoken language in the world. Therefore, it has a real impact. There are a lot of advantages to studying English, in the 21st century. Those advantages include the possibility of getting a good job, meeting new people, and being considered more attractive.

The first advantage pre-listed is the possibility of getting a good job. Nowadays, all jobs are related to English. Employers look for people who can speak English very well. For example, the fact that you speak English very well allows you to be preferred to somebody who has the same diplomas but doesn’t speak English well. Also, if you understand English well, you can work in the most powerful country in the world (United States of America). In this fact, you can work at the best firms in the world. Because of that, English helps you to get a good job.

The second advantage is you meet people from other countries. English is the most spoken language so, if you understand and learned English well, you can talk with more people. In this case, you can talk with anybody, even if this person doesn’t understand your native language. This second aspect of English is very important because human beings like to be comfortable in society, so despite the diversity of cultures and diversity of languages in the world, English allows you to understand each other. That’s why, with English, you can meet new people.

The third advantage of studying English is the fact that you are considered to be more attractive. Not everybody can understand English, so if you can speak English it makes you a very special person. People can love you and be friends with you only because you studied English and you know how to speak this language. Also, you can be more well known and become more popular because of being appreciated by everybody. For all of the reasons I mentioned in this paragraph, English can make you seem more attractive.

In conclusion, English is very important because if you study it you can earn a lot of money, know more people, and be considered more attractive. But does knowing English have drawbacks or down sides?
